Feral Fighters training kicks off
15 February 2017
South East Local Land Services, as part of the recently launched 2017 Feral Fighters program, are running 1080 and Pindone baiting courses in the Yass/Goulburn region over the next few weeks.
Landholders wanting to use 1080 or Pindone baits to control pest animals, such as wild dogs, foxes and rabbits should attend this course so they can then safely and legally use baits on their properties.
“Landholders will come out of the course with the skills and knowledge to safely and strategically use baits to target feral animals on their property. We encourage all landholders to come along as we’ve found that group control measures get the best results. The more people we train, the more area we cover which means there are fewer gaps in the landscape for the feral animals to inhabit” said Sari Glover, Yass Local Area Manager.
Locations and dates are as follows:
- Binalong 20 February
- Bookham 21 February
- Yass 22 February
- Boorowa 23 February
- Sutton 24 February
- Gunning 27 February
- Goulburn 10 March
- Gunning 20 March
The course is free for those enrolled in the Feral Fighters program. To register or to find out more visit www.southeast.lls.nsw.gov.au or contact the Yass office on 6118 7700 or Goulburn office on 4824 1900.
