Interested in learning about the origins of the Monaro’s landscape and soils?
South East Local Land Services is pleased to have the University of Canberra’s Dr. Leah Moore and Soil Knowledge Network member Peter Fogarty return to the Monaro to lead another tour for locals to discover how our soils were formed and the geological events that preceded them.
This year’s tour takes us from Cooma, west to Adaminaby. You’re invited to jump on the bus and join the tour which will include:
- the local geological time walk, our oldest soils to our youngest
- Wambrook Hill soil formation
- Adaminaby’s fault lines & associated geology
- how the geology has influenced local soil pH, nutrients and salinity
- lit-par-lit formation at Middlingbank
- Monaro volcanic basalts.
Lunch & morning tea is provided
Places are limited so please RSVP by Monday 21 May to:
