A day out for LLS at the Boorowa Show

Staff from the Local Land Services Boorowa office had a day out at the Boorowa show recently.

Sharing a stall with the Boorowa Community Landcare Group, Senior Natural Resource Management Advisor Mel Henry, Land Services Officer Kate Moseby, Senior Biosecurity Officer Scott Schlunke and South East Local Land Services board member George Merriman, took the opportunity to have a chat with show goers and engage kids with some fun, educational games.

“The show was a great opportunity for us to get out and have a chat with the community, tell people a little about who we are, what we do and that we’re here to offer support” Mel said.

South East Local Land Services work in partnership with the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program and the NSW Government’s Catchment Action Program to provide funding for land managers to help them manage their land and make improvements to their properties which benefit their bottom line, the environment and the community.

“It was great to see so many people interested in the work that we’re doing in the community, from the upcoming Feral Fighters autumn baiting campaign, to the projects that LLS and Boorowa Landcare are undertaking with land managers to improve habitat for the Southern Pygmy Perch.

“It was really heartening to see so many young people get involved and show an interest in learning more about the landscape and what kind of plants and animals inhabit the local area, the kids loved the games too”.
