Upper Lachlan primary producers may be eligible for disaster funding

Primary producers in 41 Upper Lachlan Parishes who were affected by the July 2016 storm and flood event may be eligible for up to $10,000 in relief funding after the event was declared a Category C Natural Disaster.

South East Local Land Services worked with primary producers in the immediate aftermath of the event to collate damage assessments which were used in the submission approved by the Federal Government on 28 April 2017.

As a result, funding is now available for all primary producers who meet the eligibility criteria regardless of whether they submitted a damage assessment in the wake of the event or not.

The grants are provided to assist with clean-up and restoration costs resulting from the floods. The funding can be used to cover a variety of expenses including replacing pastures, purchasing fodder, repairing damaged equipment, machinery, internal roads, causeways and fencing.

To find out if they are eligible for relief funding primary producers in the below parishes should contact the NSW Rural Assistance Authority on 1800 678 593 or visit the website. Applications close 31 October 2017.
